LEAD
Lead
Sheet is the ideal material for making weatherproof joints between
the contours of two or more building materials i.e. Brick &
Roof tiles. Lead Sheet is a proven long life Building Material.
It is extremely malleable and can be readily dressed to fit multi-curved
contours of many building materials with particular application
to Roofing Tiles, etc. Lead Sheet is aesthetically compatible with
most traditional building materials. When used correctly, Lead Sheet
is an excellent long life material. Lead Sheet is ideal for Cover
Flashings, Valleys, Gutter Linings, Ridges and Hips.
COPPER
Copper and lead roofing has been around for hundreds of years, and
still has no rivals to it's longevity. Coupling durability with
traditional elegance, these roofs utilize tried and tested methods,
and will add value and quality to your home. Our
tradesmen have been trained in traditional installation methods,
and work to the highest standards to achieve a roof that is as visually
appealing as it is watertight. Both copper and lead can be used
to provide a solution to any feature that would be difficult using
slates. For example, towers, domes and spires often use lead or
copper, and are able to withstand the rigors of the weather in their
exposed positions. Custom folded metal roofing can last for 100
years or longer, with the added benefit of little or no maintenance.
Although the cost of copper roofs may be slightly higher initially,
it's long lasting and low-maintenance characteridtics mean it can
be less expensive over it's lifetime than the so called "inexpensive
roofing materials"
ZINC
Zinc is usually about 0.7 and 0.8-mm in thickness, corrugated and
standing-seam profiles, roofing and siding, available with factory
applied patina. Zinc roofing is bright and shiny when new (similar
to bright stainless steel of aluminum appearance), but quickly turns
to a light gray appearance depending of local environmental conditions.
Factory applied or pre-aged patinas can be provided, producing colors
ranging from light gray to charcoal-black.
